Summary of Job Description:
The Corporate Counsel is responsible for negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts as well as franchise agreements, joint venture agreements, and other M&A transactions under the oversight of a senior attorney. The Corporate Counsel may also work on special projects, including litigation and compliance, and provides general legal support within the Corporate Legal Department and to other departments. The Corporate Counsel may develop and coach paralegals and less experienced attorneys.
You'll get a chance to:
- Responsible for negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts as well as franchise agreements, joint venture agreements, and other M&A transactions under the oversight of a senior attorney.
- May work on special projects, including litigation and compliance, and provides general legal support within the Corporate Legal Department.
- Monitors the contract process to ensure contracts are in compliance with legal, regulatory, and organization policy and assesses their commercial risk.
- Oversees policy and procedure review and participates in compliance projects.
- Supports other departments on legal issues. Educates associates about emerging and developing areas of the law and legislation affecting the restaurant industry.
- Researches and advises on potential legal challenges and solutions involving business strategies.
- May serve as liaison between the organization and customers/vendors, including outside counsel.
- May develop and coach paralegals and less experienced attorneys as directed. Contributes to building a cohesive legal and business team.

Your background and experience: - JD degree and licensed to practice law
- Minimum four years of relevant experience
- Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.
- Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.
Pay Range: L2: $136,500-158,000/ Annual
