Position Overview

The Machine Shop Supervisor oversees all machining processes within the shop. Responsibilities include ensuring production meets goals, reporting to management, troubleshooting issues, collaborating with technicians and engineers, and automating manual tasks. Strong emotional intelligence for driving change and accountability is essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate completion of work order tickets
• Mentor, lead, and supervise 15+ employees
• Supervise production flow, safety, and efficiency on the shop floor
• Collaborate with teams to resolve nonconformance issues
• Review and recommend improvements to work instructions
• Meet production schedules
• Monitor tooling costs and contribute to departmental cost reductions
• Enforce policies and systems
• Manage labor hours, overtime, and time card approvals

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years in manufacturing/testing environment
• 1+ years of team leadership experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

• 5+ years as a CNC machinist
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing and machining processes
• Experience converting manual processes to lights-out machining
• Leadership in process development and continuous improvement
• Developing teams within machining cells
• Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• Knowledge of GD&T and inspection procedures
• Experience with production metrics and planning
• Experience in team evaluations and reviews

Additional Requirements

• Willing to work second shift (Monday - Friday, 3:30pm - 2am)
• Able to lift 25 lbs unassisted
• Open to extended hours and weekends as needed

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $105,000 - $135,000/year, with potential bonuses, stock options, and comprehensive benefits including health coverage, 401(k), paid leave, and more. Actual salary depends on experience and qualifications.
