Job Description

Teledyne Controls has an exciting opportunity for an Electronic Technician to join our Customer Repair Group in El Segundo, CA. Under general supervision, this role is responsible for ensuring FAA compliance for our Part 145 repair shop by inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft equipment.

Key Functions

  1. Accurately troubleshoot faults in electronic circuits and mechanical systems using various test equipment such as Special Test Equipment (STE), Automated Test Equipment (ATE), data analyzers, microprocessor emulators, circuit testers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
  2. Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and modifications on avionics equipment.
  3. Conduct preliminary analyses, alignments, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of electronics, aiming to meet or exceed productivity expectations.
  4. Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, ISO procedures, and Teledyne Controls policies.
  5. Inspect all maintenance articles and replacement materials for defects and proper identification.
  6. Perform repair rework using soldering equipment in accordance with IPC J-STD standards as needed.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from an accredited two-year program in aviation electronics or a related field, with 2-5 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must participate in FAA-mandated Anti-Drug and Alcohol testing in compliance with 49 CFR part 40 and 14 CFR part 120.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic boards and components at analog/digital levels with assistance.
  • Ability to interpret production illustrations, component maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Proficiency in reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English (FAA requirement).
  • Must be a 'US Person' (US citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee).

Preferred:

  • Recent IPC-J-STD-001 soldering certification.
  • Understanding of FAA regulations.

This is an FAA Safety Sensitive position requiring pre-employment FAA drug screening and random drug and alcohol testing during employment.

Salary Range: $42,800 - $57,100
