Job Summary
Under the immediate supervision of the cafeteria manager, the Cafeteria Helper assists in food preparation, serves food, assembles and arranges food, cleans kitchen and equipment, does counting and simple record keeping, may be assigned to multiple sites, and assists in maintaining a safe workplace.
On-Call, As-Needed (3 to 5 hour shifts, depending on need)
Job Description / Essential Elements:
Under immediate supervision, assists in food preparation; serves food, assembles and arranges food items, cleans kitchen and equipment; does counting and simple record keeping; may be assigned to multiple sites; assists in maintaining a safe workplace.
Examples of Duties:
Assists in the preparation and serving of food; maintains standards of sanitation in food preparation; observes predetermined portion control standards; cleans kitchen and food service areas; cleans kitchen equipment and counters including pots, pans, utensils, etc.
Education: Equivalent to the completion of 8th grade or higher.
License Required: First-Aid/CPR certificate, valid California Driver's License may be required.
