Job Title: SSVF Housing Navigator (Contract-to-Hire)

Pay: $26–$28/hour

Location: West Los Angeles, CA

Job Type: Full-Time | Contract (Potential for Contract-to-Hire)


About the Role:


We're seeking a passionate and resourceful Housing Navigator to support Veterans through the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program. In this role, you'll help locate housing opportunities, build relationships with landlords, and guide clients through every step of the lease-up process. This is an on-site, field-based position working out of our Wilshire Blvd office and VA campus in West LA, with driving throughout Los Angeles County.

This position starts as a contract with potential for permanent hire after 3–4 months, based on performance and team needs.


What You'll Do:


  • Partner with Case Managers when Veterans are ready for housing placement.
  • Identify available units and reach out to landlords/property managers to advocate for Veteran tenants.
  • Explain subsidies and housing assistance programs to prospective landlords.
  • Coordinate showings (transportation not required) and meet clients on-site.
  • Assist with rental applications, documentation, and lease signings.
  • Submit funding requests via Integrify and document all activity in HMIS.
  • Attend in-person team meetings and communicate schedules with supervisors.


Work Schedule:


  • Monday–Friday | 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Must commit to a consistent daily schedule (between 7:00 AM–5:30 PM).
  • Training: First 1–2 weeks in person, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM.
  • Mileage, parking, and client-related expenses reimbursed.

  • Main Office: 11620 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 400, Los Angeles, CA 90025
  • VA Campus: Just across the street from main HQ
  • Field-based across LA County, based on client needs


What You Bring:


✅ Experience with SSVF or similar housing programs

✅ Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, registration, and insurance

✅ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams

✅ Strong communication and documentation skills

✅ Familiarity with HMIS or other case management systems


Nice to Have:


✔ Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field

✔ 2+ years of experience in housing navigation or property management

✔ Experience working with unhoused individuals and/or Veterans

✔ Reside in or near West Los Angeles (local candidates strongly preferred)
