Job Title: Telecommunications Engineer Location: Onsite, Los Angeles/Bay Area, California Job Type: Contract Pay: Commensurate With Experience
Locations:
The individual will be primarily supporting our projects in the Los Angeles area but may be asked to travel to the Bay Area to support our projects there.
Accountabilities:
Configuration and testing network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) and radio communications hardware (base stations, antennas, DAS) at designated sites.
RF signal optimization, performing site surveys, adjusting antenna alignment and radio signal power levels to achieve desired coverage and quality.
Network and radio testing and troubleshooting, conducting network performance tests, identifying, and resolving any connectivity issues or radio signal interference.
Protocol configuration, setting up network protocols (IP addressing, routing protocols) and radio protocols (LMR and wideband).
Documentation and reporting, creating checklists and reports including system configuration, test results and any identified issues.
Required Skills & Experience
Working knowledge of medium/complex network and radio deployment.
Expertise in RF Engineering including radio transmission principles, antenna design, RF propagation and signal measurements.
Excellent ability to use test equipment including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and a spectrum analyzer.
Working knowledge of Test and commissioning processes.
Skilled in handling electric, electronic, and mechanical drawings and schematics.
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Excellent written and oral communications skills and ability to communicate complex technical information.
Desired Skills & Experience
System integration, ensuring seamless integration between the network and radio systems, including synchronization and interoperability.
Radio Frequency/Telecommunications Qualifications/University Degree
From 2 to 5 years of Railway System Engineering and Commissioning expertise
