Position Summary
Under the direction of the Data Architecture Manager at the Office for Research Information Systems (ORIS), the DBA & Data Analyst is responsible for overseeing the operation of database systems for campus-wide applications related to research administration. The DBA & Data Analyst's role is to ensure that application development follows our organizational standards and practices, research and develop improvements to these standards, introduce new technologies to the organization, and manage central resources such as databases and identity management. The DBA & Data Analyst is responsible for working with application developers on ensuring that application architectures and data models are consistent with sound design practices and adhere to internal convention. Incumbent will manage database resources and review database audits and system logs. The DBA & Data Analyst is also responsible for following database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying applications. Other responsibilities may include assisting with application integration of single-sign-on or identity/access management solution, facilitating cloud/PaaS integration of applications, developing reports and business-friendly data "views" or other interpolations of data across multiple sources for business users. Must be able to communicate well with staff at all levels of the organization, work effectively with little supervision in a 24x7 operational environment.
