Under direct supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist, provides in-person and telephone reception, receives and directs new and refill prescriptions for further processing, produces computerized or typed prescription labels, packages and sells filled prescriptions and pharmaceutical merchandise and assists pharmacy personnel with clerical functions.
Essential responsibilities include upholding Kaiser Permanentes policies and procedures, providing in-person and telephone reception to patients, receiving new prescriptions and/or refills, verifying prescription information, alerting pharmacists when information is lacking, entering required prescription and/or patient information into the pharmacy computer, processing prescription refill authorization requests, organizing and maintaining packaged prescriptions, preparing prescriptions for delivery, selling prescriptions and other pharmaceutical merchandise, recording all transactions, maintaining the security and integrity of the cash register, and performing other duties as required.
