Description:

A fast-growing technology company headquartered in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This role offers the chance to work in an innovative, high-growth environment where technology and creativity drive business success.
Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing core accounting functions, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. This individual will also assist with process improvements and mentor junior accounting staff. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative hybrid environment and brings strong technical accounting knowledge along with an eye for detail.
Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Oversee general ledger maintenance and ensure proper transaction coding.
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and management reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technology-specific accounting issues (e.g., software capitalization, revenue recognition, SaaS contracts).
  • Support annual financial audits by preparing documentation and liaising with auditors.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations.
  • Mentor and support staff accountants with day-to-day tasks and technical questions.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or progress toward CPA preferred).
  • 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience (technology or SaaS industry experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar) highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across departments.
Work Environment

  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office (Downtown LA), 2 days remote.
