Responsibilities

Recognized expert within the company, who designs, researches and develops highly advanced applications, which may result in new product/business opportunities for the company. Leads efforts to capture new business through technical work and capability briefings. Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation. Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.

Qualifications

Required:

• BS 12-15, MS 10-13, PhD 10+
• Must possess and have the ability to maintain a TS/SCI security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Aerospace, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) is required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience within the space industry
• Experience with System of Systems (SoS) engineering principles
• Demonstrated experience in risk management processes and techniques
• Familiarity with space systems architecture, including spacecraft, launch vehicles, ground systems, and communication networks
• Understanding of space environment effects on systems
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., NASA, MIL-STD, ISO)
• Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, WarpCore)
• Experience with risk management frameworks and tools (e.g., ISO 31000)
• Ability to develop and implement risk management plans and strategies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
• Leadership skills, including the ability to lead technical teams and deliver executive level technical briefings
• Ability to make sound decisions based on data and analysis
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
