About the Role
The Company is seeking an AVP Excess Casualty Underwriter to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis of potential and existing customers, including the review of financial condition, loss and exposure history, and other relevant information to determine account acceptability. Key functions of the role include maintaining producer and agency contact log information, participating in agency visitations, and leveraging an existing network of industry relationships to grow the portfolio. The AVP will also be involved in analyzing and pricing business in accordance with company guidelines, as well as contributing to the development of operations, marketing plans, and product analysis. Applicants for the AVP Excess Casualty Underwriter position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, with a preference for a degree in a related field. A minimum of 10-15 years of related experience, including at least 10 years in umbrella and excess, is required. The role demands a proven ability to develop strong relationships within the wholesale brokerage channel, a deep understanding of the market, and a history of strong industry relationships. Strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a team player mentality are essential. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate integrity, respect, and professionalism, and be willing to travel occasionally.
