Overview


The Tax Director will lead the tax function for the family office division, overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and reporting for high-net-worth clients. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical expertise in multiple tax areas and the ability to mentor and develop staff.



Responsibilities



  • Lead preparation, review, and oversight of complex income tax returns (corporations, partnerships, individuals).

  • Supervise tax audits, correspondence, and compliance with all filing deadlines.

  • Create and maintain tax policies, procedures, and reporting standards.

  • Oversee estimated tax payments, payroll tax filings, and year-end distributions.

  • Direct entity creation/dissolution processes, including filings and elections.

  • Train and develop accounting managers and staff accountants on tax best practices.

  • Monitor quality control over financial statements as related to tax.

  • Prepare and review client invoices for tax services rendered.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (MAcc or Masters in Taxation preferred).

  • Active CPA license (CA required).

  • 10–15+ years in tax practice, including 10+ years in a supervisory capacity.

  • Experience with business management firms, public accounting, or high-net-worth clients in entertainment.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and tax software.

  • Must work 100% on-site in Hollywood, CA.



Compensation & Benefits



  • Competitive salary: $120,000 – $150,000 annually, DOE.
