Position Title: Project Architect

Location: Torrance, CA (in-office, no remote)

Salary: range between $85K to $120K depending on experience

Company info:

We are a commercial architecture firm based in Torrance for over 30 years. We are seeking to add a Project Architect to our team. You can expect a variety of project type to keep you engaged, recent projects have included restaurant renovations, offices, commercial test kitchens, karaoke studios, warehouse renovations, schools, and a car dealership. You can expect a mix of both tenant improvements and ground-up new buildings.

You will:

  • Lead a project from initial client meeting through construction administration. You will create SD, DD, and CD documents.
  • Create layouts, programming and space planning to meet client and project needs
  • Prepare project designs, QAQC, and fully coordinated set of construction documents
  • Collaborate with consulting engineers for the development and inclusion of MEP, Structural, Civil drawings
  • Submit plans to agencies having jurisdiction to obtain building permit. This includes meeting with city plan checkers, revising per their comments, and explaining changes to clients.
  • Participate in overall schedule and cost management alongside our Construction Department
  • Provide construction administration including answering RFIs, review of shop drawings and project submittals

Requirements:

  • California Registered Licensed Architect.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience, with commercial (office, retail and restaurant) projects preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture
  • Proficiency in Revit is a must
  • Comprehensive knowledge of state and local building codes and experience with submitting plans for agency review and approval
  • Effective planning, time management, and organization skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with team members
  • Valid CA driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Valid Work status in the US (Citizenship, Permanent Resident, Green Card, etc.)
