Come join our Venice Family Clinic team as the Dental Operations Supervisor. Under the guidance and general supervision of Operations Management and the Senior Dentist, you will help supervise the Registered Dental Assistants (RDAs) and Dental Assistants (DAs) and will perform dental assisting for our Venice Family Clinic's dental program. This role will also support dental operations and the Virtual Dental Home (VDH) Program, which uses tele-dentistry to provide comprehensive dental care.

Duties include:

• Assigning clinical and operational tasks to RDA and DA staff, monitoring performance, providing training, and scheduling staff.
• Maintaining records of inventory, items ordered, and equipment repairs.
• Managing patient follow-up visits and performing patient care coordination and clerical duties as needed.
• Travel to various clinic sites or other VFC-approved locations as needed.
• Test equipment regularly to determine if it is functioning properly, and Disinfect operatories.
• Take and develop radiographs as prescribed by the dentist.
• Perform all California Dental Board-approved duties of a Registered Dental Assistant, including applying sealants.
• Assist the dentist and dental hygienist with chairside supportive procedures.
• Continuously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) which include access, productivity, and quality improvement, utilizing the data to implement changes and track them.
• Work closely with the Dental Director, Site Managers, and the Compliance team to schedule compliance-related tasks.

Please note, although the position is based at 2509 Pico Blvd Santa Monica, it mayrotate between any/all of the Venice Family Clinic dental clinics within Los Angeles County as needed for outreach, supervision, or other dental assisting duties.

Salary range: $33.96 - $69.54 Hourly

• California State RDA license with Sealant Permit.
• Bachelor's degree OR at least 5 years of dental chairside experience with 6 months of experience as a dental patient coordinator.
• A California Dental Board-approved course in the California Dental Practice Act.
• Working knowledge of current dental terminology, materials, equipment, and procedures related to dentistry.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
• Completion of a California Dental Board-approved course in infection control, and working knowledge of principles of asepsis, sterilization procedures, and infection control.
• Ability to organize and maintain an inventory of dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in the dental operatory.
• Ability to handle multiple demands and frequent interruptions, and maintain a professional demeanor.
• Working knowledge of four-handed dentistry.
• Ability to work with volunteers, people of various socio-economic status, and with infectious disease patients.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
