Manager, Packaging Design

Contract - Los Angeles, CA

Overview

TalentoHC has partnered with an exciting consumer products company looking to hire a few contract Packaging Designer for a few of their premier brands. In this role, you'll design packaging that captures a playful and engaging aesthetic while delivering functional, on-brand solutions across categories such as toys, accessories, beauty, and lifestyle products. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to ensure packaging resonates with consumers and meets retail objectives.

Responsibilities

• Support the packaging design team in designing packaging across multiple product categories.
• Create dielines, mockups, and artwork using brand style guides.
• Prepare print-ready artwork files with accuracy (bleeds, dielines, resolution, Pantone matching).
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Product Development, Marketing, Licensing) to ensure packaging aligns with brand guidelines.
• Apply colorful, character-driven, and playful design sensibilities to packaging concepts.
• Assist in researching packaging trends and consumer insights, applying innovative ideas.
• Support communication with licensors and vendors on packaging approvals and revisions.
• Review proofs and samples (FEPs) to ensure high-quality execution before production.
• Support the creation of mockups for trade shows, retailer meetings, and submissions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or related field.
• 2–4 years of packaging design experience in consumer goods, ideally within toys, kids, or licensed products.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Experience working from style guides and brand guidelines.
• Understanding of packaging production and print processes.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Eye for colorful, whimsical, and engaging design.
