Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior GL and Cost Accountant to join a dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with expertise in general ledger management, financial statement preparation, cost accounting, and support for operational accounting needs across multiple branches. This role offers the opportunity to act as a key business partner to branch leadership while ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and comply with GAAP and company policies.
• Review, prepare, and post journal entries with proper supporting documentation.
• Perform detailed analysis of general ledger accounts, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and verify the accuracy of financial results.
• Collaborate with branch management to review financial results and ensure reports reflect operational realities.
• Support branch management in annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Manage sales and use tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings for assigned branches.
• Act as a liaison between accounting, operations, and finance teams to support cross-functional initiatives and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting procedures, internal controls, and best practices.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to increase efficiency.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to queries.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting requirements, and cost accounting principles.
• Experience in distribution or manufacturing accounting, preferably in the food industry.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate
