Engineering Manager

We are seeking an Engineering Manager for our client's integrated service company in the construction industry. This is a full-time, onsite position located in Long Beach, California.

Job Requirements include:

1. Providing engineered lift drawings and performing lift analysis and rigging design.
2. Supporting and mentoring junior staff with technical reviews.
3. Offering guidance to field and estimating departments on handling, lifting, and installing equipment.
4. Determining proper lift equipment based on various factors.
5. Applying innovative techniques for specialized rigging challenges.
6. Surveying construction sites to identify potential interferences and hazards.
7. Reviewing rigging aspects of jobs with the estimating department.
8. Preparing drawings and explanations for project methods for bid proposals.
9. Assisting in preparing specifications and soliciting quotations for rigging needs.
10. Developing preliminary lifting/construction plans for proposals.
11. Traveling to field sites as needed and overseeing heavy lift operations.
12. Ensuring client facilities can withstand forces during lifting operations.
13. Reviewing and approving subcontracted lifting and rigging plans.
14. Participating in meetings to communicate design activities.

Qualifications include:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering focus
• PE license
• Experience in rigging, below-the-hook, temporary supports design, and analysis
• 7-10 years in rigging structural design and analysis
• Experience with falsework, bolted and welded connections, shoring, and structural stability
• Ability to review shop and fabrication drawings
• Proficiency with RISA 3D, Mathcad, MATLAB, SolidWorks, AutoCAD 3D, and Revit
• Knowledge of industry standards and codes such as ASME, ASTM, AISC, ASCE
• Experience with FEA software like RISA 3D or SolidWorks Simulation
