Job Summary:

The Maintenance Engineer I H performs installation, repair, upkeep, and day to day general maintenance of hotel facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Practice OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professionalism at all times with co-workers, contractors, and customers.
  • Assist team with overall daily operations, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance requirements of the building.
  • Respond, prioritize, complete, and follow-up on customer service requests per Company policy.
  • Responsible for all service requests including: lighting, restroom/kitchen plumbing, minor electrical, ceiling tiles, door/lock repair.
  • Perform repair and replace electrical receptacles, switches, sensors, lamps, ballasts, and fixtures.
  • Perform repair and replace plumbing fixtures, faucets, valves, water heaters, and piping.
  • Perform the following building general maintenance tasks as required: minor carpentry, painting, drywall repair, ceiling tiles/grid repair/replacement, wallpaper repair, flooring/base repair, minor concrete repair, etc.
  • Perform or assist with preventive maintenance of building equipment/systems as directed.
  • Perform or assist with installation replacement or repair of building equipment/systems as directed.
  • Perform fire pump(s) and/or emergency generator(s) tests as required.
  • Understand and perform water treatment testing and report results to supervisor.
  • Inspect buildings and grounds for malfunctioning equipment, building issues, and unsafe conditions.
  • Report all known safety hazards, equipment issues, and customer concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
  • Complete other facility maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations.
  • Comply with Company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe work environment at all times and report any safety concerns/issues to direct supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to follow directions and training, but work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • 1-2 years experience in HVAC Technician, Refrigeration Technician, mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and plumbing trade.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Knowledge of basic hand/power tools.
  • Customer service skills, decision making/problem solving skills, and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, move, and/or push up to 50 pounds without assistance. Ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, repetitive bending, and other physical activities.
