Overview

ArentFox Schiff LLP is seeking a patent prosecution professional (patent agent or attorney) with three-plus years of experience to join our Los Angeles office. Experience in wireless telecommunications including 5G/6G technologies and WiFi is required. A degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Intellectual curiosity, excellent academic credentials, and experience in drafting and prosecuting US and worldwide applications are required. Additional requirements include strong organizational and writing skills and a desire to excel in a large law firm environment. This is a client-facing position in which the candidate will work directly with inventors and scientists, so strong oral communication skills are necessary. Membership in the Patent Bar is required. Familiarity with patent databases and search tools is highly desirable. The position comes with responsibility and independence but also features appropriate training and oversight.

Base pay range: $150,000/yr - $300,000/yr

Qualifications

  • Three-plus years of patent prosecution experience (patent agent or attorney).
  • Experience in wireless telecommunications including 5G/6G and WiFi required; experience with power devices, analog circuits, medical devices, software, mechanical devices, and 3D printing is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Intellectual curiosity, excellent academic credentials, and experience drafting and prosecuting US and worldwide applications.
  • Strong organizational and writing skills; ability to work in a large law firm environment.
  • Strong oral communication skills; client-facing role.
  • Patent Bar membership required.
  • Familiarity with patent databases and search tools; ability to work with cross-functional teams.
