Software Engineering Manager – Hybrid – Irvine, Seattle, Arvada, or DC Metro

What you'll be doing:

• Lead a cross-functional team of backend and frontend engineers, starting with 7–8 and scaling to 15+
• Balance technical leadership with hands-on coding (around 10 hours per week)
• Drive resource planning, velocity, and delivery to meet roadmap milestones
• Mentor and support the professional growth of engineers at different stages of their careers
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to align technical execution with company vision
• Foster strong incident response practices and host post-mortems to strengthen processes

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience managing software engineering teams in a startup or high-growth environment
• Strong software engineering foundation, with ability to code and review code across multiple languages
• Experience across both backend and frontend development (aerospace industry knowledge is a plus, not a must)
• Background in Agile methodologies and software development life cycle best practices
• Strong communication skills, able to bridge technical and non-technical discussions
• Clearance is advantageous but not required
