Overview

The Mathnasium Assistant Center Director is responsible for directly assisting the Center Director with sales and administrative tasks required to run a center efficiently, in addition to providing educational support and leadership to the instructional floor. They take ownership of the center's effectiveness and are empowered to take appropriate action when necessary. They assist with sales tasks, such as making care-calls, following up with warm leads to schedule center visits, and having an enrollment conversation with a walk-in customer when the Center Director is occupied. They also assist with administrative tasks such as creating binders, reordering workout plans, and logging student progress. When there are no administrative or sales tasks, they join the instructional floor to provide instruction to students and support the instructional staff. The Assistant Center Director supports training, coaching, and developing the instructional staff to achieve top performance and assists the Center Director in day-to-day operations as the second highest leadership role in the center.

Responsibilities

  • Assistant Center Principles, Educational Experts, and Administrators:
  • Support the Center Director in managing all aspects of center operations to ensure it runs efficiently
  • Ensure all administrative duties are completed, such as creating binders for students, entering student progress into the center management system, and coordinating with the Center Director to modify student learning plans / workout plans
  • Position students and team members for success by providing educational materials
  • Administer educational assessments to diagnose learning gaps and create learning plans for students
  • Take accountability / ownership of decisions, actions, choices, and outcomes
  • Assistant Sales Managers and Customer Service Specialists:
  • Successfully enroll leads in person or over the phone by staying customer focused, using Mathnasium sales tools, overcoming obstacles, and building relationships for exceptional service
  • Interact with parents to build rapport, establish trust, and answer inquiries
  • Sell the Mathnasium program and conduct enrollment conversations with parents
  • Ensure parents and students have a positive customer experience
  • Instructional Leaders, Trainers, and Support
  • Provide support to the instructional floor and staff to ensure student educational success and quality instruction
  • Provide on-the-job training / coaching to help employees achieve top performance

  • Conduct initial student assessments and create Learning Plans

  • Enter assessment data into software and update binders accordingly
  • Monitor and adjust Learning Plans based on progress
  • Create and maintain student binders and ensure materials are ordered
  • Evaluate progress using assessments, Mastery Checks, and interactions

  • Manage the center environment to control flow of students, parents, and staff

  • Maintain records of Learning Plan progress, engagement, and behavior
  • Manage student incentive programs and rewards cabinet
  • Ensure student safety and center safety throughout operations
  • Delegate instructional leadership duties as appropriate

  • Be the primary point of contact for parents regarding student progress and questions
  • Foster welcoming communication by phone, in person, and via email
  • Hold conferences to discuss progress and resolve issues
  • Distribute progress reports and solicit parental feedback
  • Maintain ongoing communication to support customer satisfaction and retention
  • Send updates and promotions to parents and manage expectations for progress
  • Make monthly Care Calls to parents for feedback and progress updates
  • Management
  • Monitor center performance, training, staffing, student achievements, and profitability
  • Regularly evaluate staff for growth and potential
  • Delegate tasks and empower employees when appropriate
  • Prepare center operations, policies, and CRM usage to optimize performance
  • Monitor security risks and ensure compliance
  • Additional Responsibilities
