Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney's linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney's media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney's EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams.

Job Summary

The Media Library Associate role is part of the Library Servicing team within Distribution Operations. You are likely familiar with some of our work and just don't know it. Theme Park projection shows like World of Color, social media posts on IG, promotional spots for Disney+, a Disney line of Coach purses, an animated classic casually playing in the background of a movie or series episode- these short segments, or "clips" as we call them, were generated from assets stored in our extensive library assets we chose, legally cleared, and then sent off to our vendor for final clip pull and delivery. This team manages companywide requests for clips and images, as well as clip licensing requests for external parties. We help make the Disney magic happen. The Library Servicing team receives several inquiries a day for research, clips, audio/video assets as well as progress updates on ongoing projects. The daily focus will be to work collaboratively with teammates on incoming and open requests. The Media Library Associate will self-manage by self-assigning projects, tracking progress, delving into asset research, soliciting necessary clearances, executing asset creation, and seeking support when needed. The Media Library Associate will be expected to manage multiple projects at different stages assuring a fair workload balance. Each project will have a different set of requirements. The ideal candidate will be able to identify requirements and execute.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role

+ Research audio, video and text assets

+ Deliver full-length assets

+ Facilitate clip or image requests

+ Run interference on approvals from Legal, Security and Studio Executives

+ Oversee the process of digital file creation and ingesting of files into inventory

+ Fulfill Non-Theatrical, Quitclaim and Lab Access requests for physical and digital assets

+ Other tasks as assigned

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 relevant years of experience
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Google Sheets)
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication and ability to work with multiple teams/stakeholders across a variety of projects
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills can quickly escalate anomalies/bugs and if needed, develop workarounds to ensure tight deadlines are met

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in any type of asset management or library setting
  • General knowledge of asset media types- video, audio, and text
  • Understanding of clip pulling/licensing
  • Knowledge of physical asset formats- film, videotape, disc, etc.
  • Experience with digital & physical asset types- video, audio, text
  • Passion for entertainment, TV, and technology with a deep knowledge of the Walt Disney catalog

Required Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
