Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Director of Procurement Services, the Procurement Operations Manager manages the daily operations of the Procurement functions, including purchase orders, service orders, contracts, agreements, MOUs, leases, licenses, vendor management, execution of bid documents, insurance and bond reviews, job walks and public bid openings. This position will assist the Director in establishing and updating procurement policies, processes and procedures in compliance with federal, state and local laws as well as CSU policy.
The position will have direct contact with and will respond to inquiries from campus officials, the Chancellor's Office, other CSU campuses as well as outside regulatory agencies.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in procurement and contract management, with a strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations. They will demonstrate leadership in system implementations and upgrades and have the ability to guide staff in a high-volume, customer-focused environment. Exceptional interpersonal and management skills are essential for collaborating across diverse campus groups, including senior leadership. Experience with grant contracts and supervising in a unionized setting is a plus. The candidate should also be forward-thinking, aligning planning efforts with the Beach2030 vision, and capable of producing complex data analyses and reports to support departmental goals.

Graduation from an accredited university with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Procurement/Purchasing/Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field and a minimum of one year of related experience required.
Preferred qualifications include experience in higher education, local government, the public sector, or other regulated environments.

Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $6,907 - $9,000 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU MPP Compensation Summary Range: The MPP Comp Summary Range for this position is $6,907 - $10,361 per month.
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
