Software Engineering Manager (Actalent)
The Software Engineering Manager leads a team of engineers developing embedded software and firmware for space flight systems. This pivotal role ensures tasks are well defined, prioritized, and executed on schedule to meet program milestones.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers in the development of embedded software and firmware for space flight systems.
- Define, prioritize, and execute engineering tasks to meet program milestones.
- Collaborate directly with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure product development success.
- Manage complex, schedule‑driven projects, ideally in a regulated industry.
Essential Skills
- Experience in task management and full life cycle development.
- Proven leadership skills in a technical environment.
- Understanding of real‑time operating systems, microcontrollers, FPGA, and low‑level hardware interfaces.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded development toolchains.
- 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a regulated industry is preferred.
- US Citizenship is required.
Work Environment
The role supports space programs, working directly with prime contractors. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with multiple engineering disciplines and lead a team impacting products destined for space.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 – $90.00/hr.
