Job Title: Patient Access Representative

Location: San Diego, CA 92123

Duration: 26 weeks 6months
Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (07:30 - 16:00)

Position Summary:
The Patient Access Representative III plays a critical role in ensuring smooth patient access to healthcare services by securing and verifying appropriate information for registration, scheduling, and authorization processes. This position requires strong customer service skills, knowledge of insurance procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a healthcare setting. Fluency in Spanish and experience with EPIC systems are essential.

Requirement

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
• Fluent in Spanish (required)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
• Proficient in using basic computer functions
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to type and perform accurate data entry
• Knowledge of insurance verification, authorizations, and eligibility processes for various health insurance carriers
• General knowledge of medical terminology or 6 months of demonstrated work experience in a healthcare environment

• Register and schedule patients for inpatient, outpatient, and diagnostic services
• Obtain and verify insurance authorizations and eligibility for services
• Provide accurate and timely information to patient families and funding sources
• Use EPIC system for patient registration, scheduling, and data entry
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow and patient care
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
• Address patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy
• Perform other administrative duties as required to support patient access functions
