We are currently looking an Associate R&D Food Technologist to join our team! This is a contract-to-hire position offering a pay rate range of $28-32/hr depending on experience.

Must be able to work onsite in North Los Angeles.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and improve new and existing products based on customer or internal requirements.
  
• Demonstrate creativity and innovation in formulation development.
  
• Taste and evaluate all developed products for quality and consistency.
  
• Work independently with minimal supervision to achieve project objectives.
  
• Perform product costing calculations and maintain accurate cost data.
  
• Create and maintain master formulas in company databases for future reference.
  
• Draft product specifications for supervisor review and approval.
  
• Conduct shelf-life and stability testing on finished products.
  
• Establish and manage protocols for all outgoing product samples.
  
• Collaborate with Quality Control and Production teams during first-time product manufacturing runs.
  
• Coordinate with the Shipping Department to ensure proper packaging and handling of product samples.
  
• Handle all sample requests and inquiries.
  
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance.
  
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the food industry or a related field.
  
• Strong mathematical proficiency, including a working knowledge of algebra.
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  
• Strong sensory acuity for taste and aroma evaluation.
  
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
