Title: Cylinder Handler

Location: 5700, S Alameda Street, Los Angeles CA, 90058

Duration: 3 Months

Shift: 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Job Summary:

• Works under very close supervision, monitored task by task. Work is mechanical, recurrent, routine or repetitive in nature.
• Maintains a safe and clean work area.
• Handles both high- and low-pressure gas cylinders and cylinder equipment within a facility and/or prepares cylinders for shipment.
• Loads and unloads gas cylinders and/or products onto and off route trucks and trailers. Handle/transfer cylinders to and from ground storage.
• Assist production personnel in removing full cylinders from fill area.
• Sorts empty cylinders by type and places in empty inventory in readiness for filling. Performs cylinder maintenance such as painting, labeling and cleaning.
• Inspect all cylinders for general condition and report all issues to management.
• Checks for cylinder quantities, styles and product and assist with inventory tracking. Report all cylinder shortages to management.
• Reviews customer orders and pulls items from inventory; may assist with accompanying paperwork for shipment.
• Must have the ability to perform basic math functions
• Ability to read and comprehend MSDS, FDA, DOT, OHSA and other company documents
• Must possess excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills, and computer knowledge Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, energetic, and enjoy working as part of a team.
• Ability to perform very heavy work routinely lift 25 to 75 lbs., occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100lbs.
• Will not list over 45lbs unassisted.
• Ability to perform work during prolonged standing up to 8 hours; frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion required.
• Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and background.
• Warehouse work area is not air conditioned or heated.

• High School Diploma or GED Minimum
• 1 year experience in a warehouse or factory setting
