The position is dedicated to improving a patient's visual coordination, efficiency, and processing capabilities. The duties and responsibilities of a Vision Therapist typically include: Therapy and Rehabilitation: Providing therapy and rehabilitation services to patients with a range of visual concerns. This involves performing exercises and visual activities to help patients regain or improve eye function. Treatment Planning: Collaborating with an optometrist to assess a patient's needs, create comprehensive treatment plans, and develop home therapy activities for maintenance of skills. Visual Skills Training: Utilizing non-invasive techniques such as eye exercises, specialized optical devices, and tailored activities to retrain the eyes and the brain to work together. Administrative Tasks: Responsibilities can include documenting therapy sessions, faxing reports to referring doctors and case managers, and other general office duties. The overall goal of the position is to help patients achieve a higher level of visual performance, which can lead to improvements in academic and sports abilities and general quality of life. OTA or BA experience preferred.
