Insight Global is looking for a Field Engineer for a large environmental construction company in Orange County. This position is a contract-to-hire role. This role requires heavy mechanical experience, including the installation of pipes, pumps, valves, and all related piping supports. Responsibilities include: · Support the development and management of submittals, RFIs, and work packages, including scope, sequencing, labor/equipment needs, material lists, and associated budgets. · Procure materials, tools, and equipment required to execute the work efficiently. · Partner with the Project Superintendent on various office and field‑related tasks to keep the project running smoothly. · Prepare and review project submittals such as product data, quality control plans, field procedures, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications. · Provide field oversight and technical input for heavy mechanical scopes, including installation of pipes, pumps, valves, and all related piping supports. Monitor and support construction activities involving concrete work, ensuring quality and adherence to design requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

BA Degree in construction management, engineering or a related field of study 3-5 years of experience working as a field engineer (working for a contractor) Experience with heavy mechanical construction, particularly with piping systems, pump/valve installations and mechanical equipment Exposure or experience supporting concrete projects Great communication Experience with large projects ($60 mil dollar projects) Ability to be on-site in Long Beach and around Southern California
