Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars./ph3Responsibilities:/h3ulliMaintain proficiency/awareness of static guard post duties/liliPlan and execute security support for SpaceX operations/liliPlan and conduct advanced security training for all security officers/liliConduct advanced research and analysis in support of SpaceX security missions/liliMentor other security members to identify and report suspicious behavior to the operations center/liliMaintain a professional appearance and demeanor/liliExecute security support as dictated by SpaceX security leadership/liliExecute roving patrols of assigned locations/liliConduct and review risk assessments of critical SpaceX facilities/liliProvide mobile security support as directed by the operations center/liliRespond to emergency situations and provide on-scene leadership to others (fire/medical/suspicious person/etc.)/liliDevelop and refine emergency response protocols based on data and experience/liliPlan and coordinate domestic flight hardware transportation operations/liliLearn advanced skillsets (EMT/investigations/surveillance/VIP escort/security hardware)/liliFunction as liaison with law enforcement, community leaders and key stakeholders in space industry/li/ulh3Basic Qualifications:/h3ulliHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate/lili8+ years of experience in the military, law enforcement, overseas security contracting, or advanced corporate security realm/lili1+ year of executive protection, mobile asset protection, or emergency response team experience/li/ulh3Preferred Skills and Experience:/h3ulliBachelors or advanced degree/liliMilitary deployment and/or counterinsurgency experience/liliHistory of critical incident handling experience/liliCombat medic, EMT-B, or paramedic related experience/liliAdvanced medical emergency training (TCCC/TECC/Combat Lifesaver)/liliDocumented small unit leadership experience/liliImpeccable character/integrity/liliExcellent oral and written communication skills/liliAbility to de-escalate disputes and/or conflict(s)/liliExperience instructing security tactics/operations/procedures/liliComputer based proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook/liliExtensive team-oriented experience/liliAn intense interest in protecting the future of spaceflight/liliForeign language proficiency/li/ulh3Additional Requirements:/h3ulliAvailability to work one of the following 12 hour shifts:/liulliDay shift: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM/liliNight shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM/li/ulliAvailability to work any schedule needed, to include: overtime, nights, weekends and rotating/liliPosition is subject to pre-employment enhanced screening, including a background check, psychological test, bi-annual physical fitness test, and a drug and alcohol test/liliAble to wear approximately 20-30lbs of gear throughout a 12-hour shift; ability to lift or carry 40-50lbs of equipment or gear unassisted/liliAbility and willingness to occasionally stand in a static position for extended periods and effectively execute duties in extreme outdoor environments heat, cold, rain/liliWillingness to travel up to 15% of time in support of SpaceX Security requirements should the need arise/liliValid drivers license/liliPossess or be eligible for a valid state security officer license/liliAbility to pass Air Force and NASA background checks for installation access as directed/liliEligible for a US Government security clearance. With an active clearance, candidates will be subject to pre-employment screening including background check and drug/alcohol test as well as random drug and alcohol testing during employment/li/ulh3Compensation and Benefits:/h3pPay range: Security Officer /Level 3: $28.00/hour/ppYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience./ppBase salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
