Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed project analyses and accurately estimate costs related to labor, materials, equipment, and other factors.
• Review and interpret technical and administrative documents, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs).
• Compile material takeoffs to determine quantities of work materials.
• Identify work crews and production rates needed for task execution.
• Break down project scopes into manageable tasks.
• Assist in the bid development process, including creating scope documents and proposals.
• Make pricing updates to existing projects as necessary.
• Regularly update pricing and labor data within estimating software.
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors to secure competitive bid numbers while maintaining ongoing connections.
• Exhibit proficiency in computerized takeoff programs such as Quote Express and capability in manual, digitizer, and on-screen takeoff methods.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of HVAC estimating experience required.
• Experience across various project types.
• Strong team collaboration skills.
• Proficient in HVAC systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Excellent time management and communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
• Effective team player.

• Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
• Knowledgeable in HVAC and piping systems, building products, construction details/design, and relevant regulations and quality standards.
• Strong technical understanding of various mechanical systems and construction methodologies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Basic understanding of construction accounting with experience reading construction drawings and specifications.
• Self-motivated team member with exemplary time management capabilities.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
• Proficient in producing thorough and accurate estimates and proposal documents.
• Skillful at identifying gaps in bidding documents to ensure comprehensive estimates.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Competent with word processors for document creation and management.
• Proficient in spreadsheets for data manipulation and basic programming.
