Position Overview
We are seeking a professional, dependable Armed Security Officer to support security operations at a place of worship in Manhattan Beach. This role requires a calm, respectful presence while maintaining heightened situational awareness during services and community gatherings.
The ideal candidate understands the balance between approachability and vigilance and is comfortable operating in a faith-based environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Armed Security Officer - Place of Worship (Manhattan Beach, CA)
Location: Manhattan Beach, CA
Position Type: Part-Time
Pay Rate: $24-$27 per hour (DOE)
Parking: On-site parking provided
Schedule
- Wednesday: 3:30 PM - 8:30 PM
- Friday: 3:30 PM - 8:30 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible armed security presence during services and scheduled events
- Monitor and control access points and entrances
- Conduct interior and exterior patrols as assigned
- Observe, identify, and report suspicious activity or safety concerns
- Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies
- Coordinate with site leadership and local law enforcement when required
- Complete accurate and timely incident reports
- Valid California Guard Card
- Valid California Firearms Permit (BSIS)
- Current exposed firearm qualification
- CPR / First Aid certification (preferred)
- Prior armed security experience (places of worship, schools, or community settings preferred)
- Strong communication, situational awareness, and de-escalation skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to stand and patrol for extended periods
