Duties and Responsibilities:
The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing production schedules to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery of products. This role works closely with manufacturing/operations, supply chain, procurement, and logistics teams to balance demand, capacity, and inventory levels. Develop and manage a rolling 52 week master production schedule (MPS) aligned with demand forecasts, customer orders, and capacity constraints.
- Develop, maintain, and adjust daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Analyze customer orders, forecasts, and inventory levels to determine production requirements.
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to execute production schedules that achieve on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery, while maintaining target safety stock levels and ensuring compliance with sell-by date requirements.
- Monitor production progress and resolve scheduling conflicts or delays.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure availability of raw materials and components.
- Manage component consumption for finished goods production.
- Issue purchase orders to support production and inventory requirements.
- Confirm inventory receipts at 3PL warehouses, and validate invoice pricing accuracy.
- Communicate schedule updates and changes to supply chain leadership.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, lead times, and production efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.
- Maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP systems.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to include schedule adherence, service levels, inventory turns, and capacity utilization.
- Contribute to the successful adoption of the S&OE/S&OP processes to enhance cross-functional planning and decision-making across the organization.
- Perform all other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, or equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems Proficient in Excel, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Canopy), and any other supply chain planning tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to manage complexity and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing multiple production facilities.
- APICS / CPIM or similar supply chain certification.
- Experience supporting the launch, growth, and operational scaling of a start-up organization.
- Experience with food safety standards, quality assurance programs, and regulatory compliance requirements in a manufacturing or production environment.
